Dr. Eget earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Clarion University of Pennsylvania. During this time, she gained valuable internship experiences in the school program of a residential mental health facility working with children and adolescents with significant emotional conditions as well as learning disorders. This experience led her down a path that fueled her passion for education and for treating children and families of individuals with academic and social-emotional challenges. In the years to come, she worked as a behavioral specialist and mobile therapist in the home and school environments providing wrap-around services while earning a Masters of Education in Educational Psychology and her Educational Specialist degree in School Psychology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. As a Nationally Certified School Psychologist, she was able to continue work providing services to school staff, families, and children with diverse needs in the public school system. She provided comprehensive mental health and behavioral health services and research-based practices for students, as well as parent and staff consultations. Her scope of work included staff training, intern supervision, IEP and 504 team participation, conducting psychological assessments, risk and threat assessments, school based counseling, and program evaluations. She has participated in thousands of meetings analyzing data to best meet student needs. Always passionate about children and families of children with disabilities, her doctoral research focused on understanding sibling relationships and the impact of having a child in the home with a disability on personality, academics, behavior, and future career aspirations. She completed her Doctorate of Education degree in May 2009 from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and continued in the public sector as a school psychologist. In 2018, she became the Director of Program Supports at The Summit School, an independent, nonpublic school for bright students who learn differently. In this role, she helped manage the departmental planning and daily operations of the school to ensure that each child received the best educational program possible based on their unique learning profile and social-emotional needs. She as been a part of evaluation teams at the Summit Resource Center and Waypoint Wellness Center, LLC conducting comprehensive psychological assessments for individuals of all ages. Dr. Eget strives to empower children and families and help them understand their abilities, skills, and challenges so they can be successful in the classroom and in life.
